France striker Karim Benzema has brushed off criticism from fans as he extended his international goal drought to 1011 minutes in their 1-0 defeat to Spain on Tuesday night.
The Real Madrid forward was replaced by Paris Saint-Germain's Christophe Jallet for les Bleus with eight minutes remaining, and the former Lyon man said that the derision from the supporters does not adversely affect him.
"The whistles? That's not that bad," he told TF1.
"It happens. I was fine. I'll score again. The most important thing is the team. I'm confident.
"We are all very disappointed. If you look at the whole game, we did not deserve to lose. We made a mistake and we paid [for it]."
The win was enough to send la Roja above Didier Deschamps's side in Group I.
