Didier Deschamps has insisted that he was impressed by "beautiful" France despite the narrow nature of their 1-0 friendly victory in Portugal on Friday night.
Mathieu Valbuena struck an 85th-minute winner as Les Bleus laboured to a slender victory in Lisbon last night.
"We showed a lot of aggression, we had some good moves, and we did not concede a goal," the coach told reporters.
"Beyond the result against a good Portugal team, we had the ingredients we needed. We had the better chances and could have scored before we did.
"We had a stranglehold on the second half. I saw beautiful things."
As the host nation of Euro 2016, France automatically qualify for the tournament.
