West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet has stated that it is "unjust" that France coach Didier Deschamps has not called him up to the side.
The 28-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League since joining the Hammers from Marseille in the summer but has not featured for Les Bleus since appearing as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Albania in June.
Payet has said that he does not understand why Deschamps has ignored his current form.
"I feel as if it is an injustice," he told the London Evening Standard. "It is more than a year now that I am in the best form of my career, even if I can still get better. So, for me, it is unjust not to be in the France squad.
"I do not understand what is expected of me. But not to be called up for France does not stop me from living."
Payet has scored one goal in 15 caps for France.
