France midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been ruled out of Sunday's Nations League final with Spain after testing positive for coronavirus.
The Juventus man started and played 75 minutes of Les Bleus' semi-final win over Belgium before being replaced by Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni.
Rabiot's spot was thought to have been at risk following Tchouameni's bright cameo anyway, but the 26-year-old will now play no part in the contest at San Siro.
A statement from the French Football Federation read: "As a result and as soon as the results were known, Adrien Rabiot was placed in solitary confinement. He will not rally Milan with his teammates.
"Adrien Rabiot cannot be replaced for regulatory reasons. Didier Deschamps can therefore rely on a group of 21 players for the final against Spain."
Tchouameni could therefore partner Paul Pogba in the middle against Spain with N'Golo Kante (also COVID-19) not available, and Rabiot's withdrawal comes after Lucas Digne was also ruled out due to injury. body check tags ::
