Olivier Giroud has claimed that he should be starting for France during their opening World Cup match against Honduras on Sunday.
The 27-year-old has scored three goals in his country's warm-up matches for the tournament and will face tough competition from Karim Benzema for a place in their forward line.
When asked by reporters if he felt that he deserved a place in the team he replied: "Yes, of course.
"I am happy with how I played in the warm-up games. I feel on form and very positive. I hope to get a lot of playing time."
Following their opening match against Honduras, France will face Switzerland and Ecuador in their remaining Group E fixtures.
