FIFA has confirmed that Blaise Matuidi will not face further action for a tackle on Ogenyi Onazi during France's win over Nigeria at the World Cup earlier this week.
The midfielder was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg during the 2-0 defeat, although tests have since shown no fractures, with the 21-year-old expected to return to action with Lazio in two weeks.
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi called for the governing body to take retrospective action against the French midfielder, but ESPN reports that the disciplinary commission has decided that no further punishment was necessary.
Matuidi, who was booked for the challenge, has apologised for the tackle.
