France midfielder Paul Pogba has claimed that Les Bleus felt like 'they were playing in Australia' in Saturday's 2018 World Cup clash in Kazan.
Antoine Griezmann sent France 1-0 ahead in the Group C clash, before Mile Jedinak equalised for Australia just past the hour.
Pogba's deflected effort saw France collect all three points courtesy of a 2-1 victory, and the Manchester United midfielder has said that the Australia supporters created an "intense" atmosphere.
"It was intense. The Australian fans were shouting, they were even booing our players so we felt like we were playing in Australia," Pogba told reporters.
France's next group match is against Peru on Thursday afternoon, before finishing against Denmark on June 26.
