Freiburg captain Julian Schuster has signed a contract extension with the Bundesliga club.

The 28-year-old midfielder joined the team from Stuttgart in 2008.

Freiburg have not disclosed the length of Schuster's new deal.

"I am pleased that we have once again reached agreement," he told the club's official website. "I have experienced in Freiburg five and a half great years as a professional and find the club to be my footballing home."

Freiburg are currently in 16th place in the Bundesliga table.
