Fulham boss Kit Symons is hopeful that Wednesday's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest can reinvigorate his side in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Ross McCormack netted a first-half hat-trick as the Cottagers moved 14th in the Championship, 10 points adrift of the top six with 19 games remaining.
"If we can win a couple more on the spin we'll be looking up the table, but lose a couple and we'll be worrying about relegation again," he told Sky Sports News.
"It's that tight, you can't look too far ahead."
Symons's side resume league duties with a trip to Blackburn Rovers on January 31 following Saturday's trip to Sunderland in the FA Cup.
