Martin Jol: 'Fulham should have won'

Martin Jol believes that his side should have held out for the three points after twice taking the lead late on against Reading.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has insisted that his side should have won Saturday's game at Reading, having managed to score three goals.

Chris Baird and then Dimitar Berbatov scored what looked to be the winners late on, but Fulham were twice pegged back and had to settle for a point.

Jol said that with his side's attacking performance in the second half they should have been able to keep Reading at bay.

"If you saw the first half I thought we started off brightly but we didn't play the ball forward enough for my liking," the club's official website quotes Jol as saying.

"We caused problems for ourselves on occasions by losing the ball and allowing them to break. Without playing very well they scored a great goal.

"The second half was a totally different story. We did exactly what we wanted to do; we played some good football, created chances and scored goals. If you score three goals against a team like Reading then you should win the game."

Fulham are currently sixth in the Premier League.
