Fulham boss Martin Jol has insisted that the Cottagers should have been awarded a penalty during their 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Monday.
Danny Murphy was seemingly tripped in the box by United midfielder Michael Carrick late in the encounter, and Jol was in no doubt that it should have been awarded.
"I thought it was a difficult decision. I think if he had given the penalty he would have had to send Michael Carrick off," Jol told Sky Sports News.
"I think everyone in the stadium expected a penalty, to be honest. You have to be brave to give a penalty away at Man United."
The result leaves Fulham 13th in the Premier League table.
