Lee Clark admits that he would be "absolutely delighted" should his former side Fulham consider him for the vacant managerial position.

Lee Clark has revealed that he would be more than open to returning to "special" former club Fulham to take over as manager.

The 43-year-old has been out of work since departing Blackpool in May on the back of a tumultuous spell at Bloomfield Road.

Having had mixed success during his managerial career to date, Clark recently admitted that his next job simply has to be the right choice.

With the Fulham position now vacant following the sacking of Kit Symons earlier this month, the former Birmingham City chief says that he would love to be considered for the role.

"Would I be interested in being manager of Fulham? Of course I would. I would be absolutely delighted it that were to be the case," he told talkSPORT.

"It is a special club to play for, there are terrific people behind the scenes, and it was a brilliant place for me to live with the family.

"Of course I would throw my hat into the ring for that but there is a lot of people with more experience than me who have been linked with that one."

Clark spent six years at Craven Cottage during his playing days, before moving on to join Newcastle United in 2005.
