Fulham player Tim Ream has criticised his side's performance in their 3-1 loss to Birmingham City on Sunday.
The Cottagers, who have secured a place in the Championship play-offs, were beaten comfortably by 19th-placed Birmingham at the weekend.
The defeat at St Andrew's meant that Fulham would not finish runners-up, with Cardiff City leapfrogging the Whites for automatic promotion.
"It's all excuses," he told football.london.
"It was down to us, it was there for us, we got the result we needed in the Cardiff game and, pardon my French, but we shit the bed. To be honest, there was no real pressure on us, win, lose or draw we knew we had to better Cardiff's result and it just wasn't there for us. We've had three chances now to be promoted in two seasons, it's pretty incredible to have that opportunity so myself, the team and everybody associated with the club have to grab it with two hands and take it.
"We won't change our approach just because it's the playoffs. It's three more games and we take the first game as it is, we look at the second game but we can't look past this first game in the playoffs. What we do is up to us, it's not up to anyone else and we don't rely on anyone else."
Fulham will play Derby County in the playoff semi-final on Friday.
