Sports Mole previews Southampton's Premier League trip to Fulham, whose team may depend on whether they can sign reported transfer targets before Friday's deadline.

Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen may have several fresh faces to call upon for the visit of Southampton to Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The Whites are reportedly working hard on deals to bring Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Lewis Holtby and Olympiakos striker Konstantinos Mitroglou to the club before the transfer deadline.

Whether either player will be registered in time to feature against the Saints, or sign at all, remains to be seen, but Meulensteen will have one potential debutant available after defensive midfielder William Kvist joined from Stuttgart on an initial loan deal.

Adel Taarabt appears to have played his last game for the club, with the Moroccan attacker in Italy on Thursday to finalise a loan deal to AC Milan, while Dimitar Berbatov's future is also up in the air and the Bulgarian may not be a Cottagers player by 11pm on Friday.

With defensive recruitments seemingly not on Meulensteen's agenda, 21-year-old Dan Burn seems poised to continue at centre-back, while Ashkan Dejagah, substituted before 70 minutes in his previous two outings, may be demoted to the bench to make room for Damien Duff.

Outgoings, rather than incomings, are the focus at Southampton, whose manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he will not allow any of his impressive young stars to leave the club in this window.

One man who may be on his way out is Dani Osvaldo, with the suspended club-record signing believed to be in talks with Juventus over a possible return to Serie A, on a loan move until the summer.

With Rickie Lambert a fitness doubt, 18-year-old striker Sam Gallagher could continue to lead the Saints line. While Dejan Lovren and Gaston Ramirez remain absent with ligament damage, Victor Wanyama could make his first appearances in three months after recovering from a leg fracture.

Fulham have lost three top-flight games in a row and dropped back into the relegation zone courtesy of midweek results, while Southampton have halted their slip down the table by going three without defeat.
