Fulham and Brentford share the spoils in the West London derby at Craven Cottage as the teams play out a 2-2 draw in their Championship clash.

Fulham and Brentford played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Championship clash at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

Alan Judge put the Bees ahead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute as he calmly stroked his effort past Andy Lonergan after Jake Bidwell had been brought down by Ashley Richards in the box.

The visitors pressed forward into the final third once again through Lasse Vibe, but his strike was well saved by Lonergan as the keeper got down well to his right.

Ryan Fredericks almost got the Cottagers back into the game by raiding down the right and firing a vicious strike at goal, but David Button was equal to the effort to make the stop.

The home side got their equaliser just before the break when James Tarkowski headed into his own net as he tried to clear the danger from Ross McCormack's awkward cross into the six-yard box.

In the second half, the Bees came close to regaining their advantage following good work by Sergi Canos as he set up Konstantin Kerschbaumer, but Lonergan made a good save to deny the midfielder.

Lonergan kept his side level by producing two fine saves to first deny Vibe from close range, while he then was able to turn Judge's effort past the post on the rebound.

Brentford paid for their missed opportunities when McCormack released the run of Moussa Dembele through the middle and the forward displayed his clinical edge by lifting the ball over Button into the net to put his side in front.

However, the Bees were behind for just seven minutes as Jack O'Connell levelled by poking the ball home from close range after Tarkowski had flicked Bidwell's corner into the six-yard box.

Both sides had chances late in the game, but were unable to find a winner as they were forced to take a point apiece from the contest.
