Bryan Ruiz got on the scoresheet against his boyhood club as Fulham overcame Costa Rican outfit LD Alajuelense 3-1 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
Ruiz burst through the Alajuelense defence and lashed a vicious strike inside the near post to conclude the scoring with three minutes remaining at Estadio Nacional.
Steve Sidwell had earlier broken the deadlock with a powerful header from a Ruiz corner on 62 minutes.
That lead lasted just 10 minutes as Allen Guevara levelled the scores with a composed finish under pressure.
However, Fulham's lead was quickly restored. Alexander Kacaniklic was sent tumbling in the penalty area and Dimitar Berbatov calmly converted the resultant spot kick.
Ruiz then had the final word, as he wrapped up a second consecutive win for the Cottagers, who conclude their tour of Costa Rica against Deportivo Saprissa on Saturday.
