Felix Magath has said that he does not expect on-loan players Darren Bent and Lewis Holtby to remain at Fulham following the club's relegation from the Premier League.
Bent spent the entire season on loan at Craven Cottage from Aston Villa, while Holtby joined in January from Tottenham Hotspur.
The manager told the Fulham Chronicle: "I think they go back because they're not only loan players but players with high quality and high wages.
"We have to look at the money and take care of the money. I think we're not able to pay such players.
"At the moment I don't know about the team next season. We have to be patient and wait to see what goes on. Players like Sascha Riether, they earn good money and may get an offer from another team."
The Cottagers, who finished 19th in the table, were joined by Cardiff City and Norwich City in the bottom three.
