Galatasaray have confirmed the sacking of head coach Cesare Prandelli following the side's exit from the Champions League.
Prandelli joined the Turkish club in the summer after failing to lead Italy out of the group stages at the World Cup in Brazil.
However, Galatasaray's recent form had seen him come in for criticism from the team's supporters, and the 2-0 defeat to Anderlecht caused the club's hierarchy to react.
The defeat in Brussels ended Galatasaray's chances of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League, and also made it impossible for them to secure a place in the Europa League.
Assistant coach Claudio Taffarel is expected to take charge of the side on a temporary basis.
