Wesley Sneijder has revealed that he is "very happy" in Turkey and wants to stay at Galatasaray "for many years more".
It came as somewhat of a surprise when the experienced Dutchman swapped Inter Milan for Galatasaray in 2013, but the midfielder has since racked up almost 150 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish giants.
This season, the 32-year-old has scored three times in five league appearances for the Turks and has hinted that he could end his career at his current club, where he has 'a special connection with the fans'.
"I have had a great time here so far and it's been almost four years [since joining]," Sneijder told Galatasaray's official TV channel. "It still feels like only a year, time goes by so quickly.
"I won a lot of trophies here. They will be a part in my museum after my career finishes. I have special feelings about Galatasaray and it is not because I am here at the moment. I also have special feelings for Inter because I won the Champions League there.
"I can go back to Ajax because they raised me up as a football player but here [at Gala] it's different because you really feel the connection with fans, with everybody. I am very happy, my family is happy. I can stay here for many years more."
Sneijder has consistently been linked with a move away from Galatasaray over the last couple of seasons.
