Reported Manchester City target Mattia Perin has said that he is not ready to play for a big club.
The Genoa goalkeeper, currently on loan at Pescara, has been linked with a move to the Citizens, as well as Serie A rivals AC Milan.
However, the 19-year-old has dashed City's hopes of securing his signature by stating that he would prefer to stay in Italy.
"I've got a lot more meat to eat yet," Perin told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Italian football is the top of the top for me, but I don't think I could play for a big club right now. I need to grow."
Perin has won three caps for the Italian Under-21 side.
