Germany captain Philipp Lahm has insisted that his teammates are desperate to beat Italy on Friday.
The sides last met in the semi-finals of Euro 2012, with the Azzuri running out 2-1 winners.
However, Lahm has claimed that the team will not be focused on that defeat when the sides meet in Milan.
"We have no thoughts of revenge, we cannot change the past," Goal.com quotes Lahm as saying.
"It is in each player's mind that we never could win against Italy in tournaments. But we look forward now and want to beat Italy."
Germany beat Sweden 5-3 in their last outing.
