German Football Association president Reinhard Rauball admits that he was humbled by the decision of the France squad to remain with Joachim Low's men at the Stade de France.

The president of the German Football Association Reinhard Rauball has hailed the "camaraderie" shown by France to remain with Joachim Low and his men at the Stade de France.

Die Mannschaft and Didier Deschamps's side waited inside the stadium together as a spate of terror attacks took place around Paris, which resulted in the deaths of 129 people.

Germany did not return to their hotel in the aftermath of the attacks, and only were able to get back home on Saturday morning.

However, Rauball has admitted that he was humbled by the attitude of the France squad to remain with their German counterparts through the night.

"The French said that they were staying as long as Germany had to stay," Rauball told reporters. "That was an outstanding gesture of camaraderie."

Germany lost the match at the Stade de France 2-0 in a contest that was overshadowed by events in the French capital.
