Mario Gotze has admitted that he was not sure how to react after netting the winning goal in Sunday's World Cup final against Argentina.
The attacking midfielder came off the bench to secure Germany's fourth title with seven minutes of extra time remaining, and he admits that it was a special feeling to earn the ultimate reward for their work in Brazil.
"It's an unbelievable feeling, I don't know how to describe it," Gotze told reporters. "I just took the shot and didn't know what was happening. For us, the dream has become reality.
"I'm very proud of the team and extremely happy about everything that has happened here in Brazil. Every player in our team deserves praised and we're very proud to have won this trophy."
Gotze was labelled a "miracle boy" by Joachim Low after the final whistle.
