Germany coach Joachim Low calls on the fringe players in his squad to "make a case for themselves" in the friendly against Cameroon ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

Germany boss Joachim Low has challenged the fringe players in his squad to "make a case for themselves" in the friendly against Cameroon.

Low will be naming his 23-man squad for the World Cup in Brazil after the game in Moenchengladbach, and the coach is hoping to gain more insight into the players he has available.

The 54-year-old has called on some of his players to take the opportunity to put their names forward one last time ahead of the tournament.

"It is another opportunity for me to gain a few pertinent insights, and for individual players to make a case for themselves," Low told reporters.

Low also made a point of praising the spirit in the squad, claiming that there has been no repeat of the factions that hindered the side at Euro 2012.

"Club interests have given way to the national interest," Low added. "The team spirit's very good, there's no comparison with 2012."

Low took over as coach of Germany in 2006.
