Germany coach Joachim Low has defended goalkeeper Manuel Neuer following his mistake against Kazakhstan in their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
The Bayern Munich player lost possession of the ball while trying to dribble inside his own penalty box in the opening minutes of the second half, allowing Heinrich Schmidtgal to score for the visitors.
Despite Germany going on to win the Group C clash 4-1 in Nuremberg, the fans jeered Neuer for the rest of the match, leading Low to voice his distaste at the behaviour.
"I didn't like that Neuer was whistled at after his mistake," ESPN quotes him as saying.
"He is up there with the best keepers in the world and made one mistake. That he was accompanied by irony for the rest of the game, I think that is unsportsmanlike."
The win saw Germany go eight points clear at the top of Group C.
