Getafe skipper Pedro Leon has insisted that he did not mean to offend Valencia supporters during the La Liga clash at the Mestalla on Sunday evening.
The former Real Madrid midfielder scored his side's third in the 3-1 win before celebrating in front of the home supporters, which led to Valencia centre-back Jeremy Mathieu receiving a red card.
However, the Spaniard has claimed that he did not intend to "provoke the fans".
"I'm happy for the victory. If at any moment I bothered the Valencia fans with my celebration for scoring the third goal, I apologise," Leon tweeted after the match.
"Never at any point was my intention to provoke the fans.
"The play finished at this end of the pitch and that's where I celebrated, on a whim to show my job, because it sealed the win after all of these months."
The victory moved Getafe out of the relegation zone.
