Getafe have climbed up to 11th place in La Liga with a 2-1 victory over Espanyol this evening.
Pedro Leon wasted a chance to put the home side ahead in the 25th minute when he side-footed wide from six yards out, and Naldo saw a header cleared off the line as the home side had the better chances in the opening half-hour.
They eventually took the lead in the 34th minute when Pablo Sarabia collected Alexis's pass and coolly finished beyond Francisco Casilla.
Sarabia turned provider after the break as he teed up Alvaro Vazquez to lash home Getafe's second shortly before the hour mark.
Lucas Vasquez came close to grabbing a goal back for Espanyol with 25 minutes remaining, but was denied by the quick-thinking Jonathan Lopez, who dashed from his line to thwart the winger.
Anaitz Arbilla whipped a long-range strike into the top corner with a minute remaining to make for a nervy finale, but Getafe held on to secure all three points.
