An early second-half strike from Jhon Cordoba has given Granada a slim 1-0 win over Elche in La Liga tonight.
The hosts edged a tight contest, while the visitors will rue the second-half sending off of Damian Suarez.
Granada almost took the lead after only eight minutes when attacking player Piti set up Emanuel Insua, but his shot was saved by Tyton.
The Elche keeper was then forced to make a smart stop to deny Piti, who ran past several defenders on his way into the box before having an effort graze the crossbar.
The hosts took the lead in the 55th minute when Piti set up Cordoba, who coolly slotted the ball into the net.
Things got worse for Elche when Suarez picked up his second yellow card with still 20 minutes left.
Granada almost put the game to bed through chances for Allan Nyon and Javi Marquez, but a one-goal margin was enough.
