Groningen and Vitesse have played out a 1-1 draw in this afternoon's Eredivisie clash at Euroborg.
The first chance of the game fell to the hosts as Mimoun Mahi charged forward in the fourth minute, but his subsequent shot was poor and allowed Rochdi Achenteh to save with ease.
It took the visitors until the quarter-hour mark before they mustered their first effort on the Groningen goal, with on-loan Chelsea man Bertrand Traore's shot from 20 yards failing to trouble the opposition keeper.
However, Traore managed to break the deadlock for Vitesse with three minutes left in the first half when Valeri Kazaishvili's ball to the Burkinabe midfielder was followed by a curling shot into the net.
Nevertheless, Groningen equalised just after the hour mark through the prolific Tjaronn Chery, with the Dutch midfielder seizing on a rebound to prod home his fifth goal of the season and snatch his side a point.
