A brace from Claudio Beauvue helped 10-man Guingamp to a 3-2 victory over visiting Lorient in LIgue 1 this evening.
Christophe Mandanne also got on the scoresheet for the hosts in an entertaining clash at the Stade du Roudourou.
It was the away side who looked to make early inroads, only to be thwarted by Guingamp stopper Jonas Lossl, who did well to keep out shots from Gianni Bruno and Mathias Autret.
Guingamp were the side to grab the game's opener, however, as Beauvue caught hold of Mandanne's through ball before firing into the bottom corner to make it 1-0.
Mandanne nearly doubled his side's lead on the stroke of half time with a testing effort from distance, but Lorient stopper Benjamin Lecomte got up to the top corner.
The striker got his rewards after the break when he collected from Younousse Sankhare to fire home into the centre of goal and take the score to 2-0 in the 69th minute.
Lorient had a lifeline just two minutes later, however, when Jeremy Sorbon brought down Benjamin Jeannot in the area, allowing the striker to step up and convert the spot kick.
The away side's chances were not to last for long as Guingamp soon restored their two-goal lead through a penalty notched by Beauvue, before the hosts were reduced to 10 men when Sankhare was handed a second yellow.
After Dorian Leveque put into his own net, Avante were given a shaky few moments as the game drew to a close, but were able to hold out to secure all three points.
