A Mustapha Yatabare brace was enough to earn Guingamp their first win of the season as they picked up a 2-0 victory over Lorient at the Stade Municipal du Roudourou.
Yatabare struck either side of half time to move Guingamp off the bottom of the Ligue 1 table and into 12th position, while Lorient sit 14th.
Having started the stronger out of the two sides, Guingamp took the lead 17 minutes into the match when a cross from the left bounced away from the defender and landed on a plate for Yatabare to smash into the back of the net and give the hosts the lead.
Lorient nearly found a response with two chances in two minutes. First Fabien Robert's effort from outside the box flew just over the crossbar before Alain Traore's 25-yard shot forced a low save from Mamadou Samassa.
The home side doubled their lead just three minutes into the second half when Claudio Beauvue raced to the byline before crossing the ball inside for Yatabare to tap in his and his side's second.
