Mainz 05 and Hannover have played out a goalless draw in today's Bundesliga clash at the Coface Arena.
Both sides went for goal from start to finish, but could not break the deadlock as they each maintained their unbeaten starts to the new season.
The away side were first to record an effort on goal, with Joselu heading just wide in the 14th minute.
Just a minute later, the opposition threatened thanks to Christoph Moritz's headed chance, which was also off target.
The home side were dominant for most of the first half, but were largely toothless in the final third as Shinji Okazaki and Niko Bungert barely troubled the Hannover defence with half chances.
However, the away team could have scored towards the end of the first period when Miiko Albornoz saw his effort saved by Loris Karius.
Early in the second half, Daniel Brosinski and Johannes Geis threatened for Mainz, and Hannover countered immediately with opportunities for Hiroshi Kiyotake and Leon Andreasen, but the match ended in stalemate.
