Former Premier League footballer Jonathan Greening will have a trial outing for Hartlepool United against one of his former clubs Middlesbrough this evening.
The 35-year-old has been a free agent since he was released by Championship side Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
However, he has recently trained with the Pools squad and manager Colin Cooper is now keen to see him in action.
"I know that he's looking forward to being involved against Middlesbrough too which is great so we'll see what happens off the back of that," Cooper told the club's official website.
Greening started his career with York City, before going on to have spells with Manchester United, Boro, West Bromwich Albion, Fulham, Forest and Barnsley.
