Former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Aleksandr Hleb has said he is delighted to have rejoined his old club BATE Borisov.
The 31-year-old re-signed for the Belarusian champions on a free transfer and is overjoyed to have returned to the club he made his professional debut with.
"I'm happy to return to BATE," Hleb enthused on the club's official website.
"The team is in a difficult situation with regards to personnel at the minute because of the number of players who have gone to the Olympics. I was asked to help, which I'm happy to do.
"I took my first steps here and then went into Europe. I would like to thank the club and I will do everything I can to help achieve our goals.''
BATE, who are currently without five of their regular players, have also signed the Belarusian Premier League's all-time top scorer, Roman Vasilyuk, from FC Minsk.
