Luciano Slagveer struck late as Heerenveen put a halt to ADO Den Haag's recent progress in the Eredivisie with a 1-0 victory this evening.
The relegation scrappers had gone five games unbeaten to climb clear of trouble but fell to Slagveer's 78th-minute winner at the Kyocera Stadium.
Heerenveen could not manage a shot on target in a first half in which Den Haag threatened through top scorer Michiel Kramer and Wilson Eduardo.
The visitors slowly improved in the second period and started to build some pressure which eventually told when Slagveer converted from Stefano Marzo's cross.
Den Haag could not find a reply as they lost for the first time since February 1 to a Heerenveen side who climb two places to fifth in the table.
