Hibernian have recorded a 2-0 victory over Hearts in the Edinburgh derby thanks to strikes from Jason Cummings and Farid El Alagui at Easter Road.
The home side pressed in the early stages of the game as Cummings laid the ball into the path of Fraser Fyvie on the edge of the box, but his drive went just over the bar.
Hibs threatened again as Cummings carved out space to drill an effort towards the bottom corner, but his strike was well saved by Neil Alexander, who palmed the ball to safety.
The hosts did go ahead in the 30th minute when Fyvie lifted a dangerous cross into the box and El Alagui knocked the ball forward, which allowed Cummings to poke the ball past Alexander.
Liam Fontaine almost doubled Hibs' advantage before the break as he struck the ball with venom at goal, and his strike beat the outstretched hand of Alexander but crashed off the crossbar.
In the second half, Hearts pushed to get back into the game as Jamie Walker blasted an effort towards goal, but Mark Oxley made a fine stop to tip his strike over the bar.
The visitors raided again late in the game and Oxley made another good save, this time to deny Osman Sow, to keep his team ahead.
Hibernian ensured their victory when Farid El Alagui netted in the last minute on the counter when he latched onto Franck Dja Djede's pass and maintained his composure to beat Alexander.
