Houston Dynamo and Toronto played out a goalless draw in their MLS Eastern Conference clash at the BBVA Compass Stadium.
The home side threatened early on but Ricardo Clark just couldn't get his header on target from Kofi Sarkodie's cross from the right wing.
Toronto should have taken the lead in the 16th minute when Doneil Henry rose highest in the penalty area from a corner, but he headed his effort straight at Tally Hall in the Houston goal.
The Dynamo were equally as guilty minutes later when Corey Ashe raided down the left and hit a pinpoint cross to Will Bruin, who was unmarked in the six-yard box, but he missed the target with a free header.
After the break, Robert Earnshaw should have done better for the visitors as he found space and time in the box, but he could only drill his effort straight at Hall.
Toronto were in the ascendancy in the second half and Houston were grateful to a great double save from Hall late on to earn them a point, when first he denied Jeremy Brockie's left-footed volley and then sprung to his feet stop Danny Koevermans on the rebound.
