One goal each from Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes have put Blackburn Rovers in a good position at 2-1 up at half time against Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield almost scored in the first minute as a corner was met by the head of Mark Hudson, but Simon Eastwood reacted well to deny him.
Another corner then found Oscar Gobern, but all he could do was head the ball well over the bar from a promising position.
Conor Coady came close for Huddersfield when his overhit cross nearly caught out Eastwood, who could only watch the ball sail over his head, deflect off the post and go wide.
Gestede then put Blackburn in front after Rhodes did well to squirm past three players and square the ball to his strike partner, whose deflected shot rolled into the net for his 21st goal of the season.
Rhodes quickly doubled their lead by heading in a Craig Conway cross to become the first Rovers player since Alan Shearer to score 20 league goals in three successive seasons for the club.
Jacob Butterfield pulled one back for Huddersfield before the break with an unstoppable free kick that went in off the crossbar.
