Joel Lynch is reportedly undergoing a medical with recently-promoted Huddersfield Town.
The 24-year-old has been a free agent for a short period of time after he let his contract with Nottingham Forest expire earlier this summer.
Huddersfield boss Simon Grayson reacted quickly to make contact with the defender, who joined Forest in 2008.
Following the completion of his medical tests, Lynch will sign a three-year deal with the Terriers, according to Sky Sports News.
Lynch spent the first four years of his career with Brighton & Hove Albion.
