Steve Bruce has admitted that he is keen on signing West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long.
The Hull City boss tried to do a deal for the Republic of Ireland international in the summer, but the move fell through.
However, Bruce has now confirmed that he could revisit the situation if Long becomes available when West Brom appoint their new manager.
"A new head coach will come in and who knows," Sky Sports News quotes Bruce as saying.
"If he became available, then I would love to try to do something. But we thought we had a deal on deadline day and it didn't quite happen.
"We'll see what the situation is, but we'll respect the fact that he is a West Brom player."
Hull played out a 1-1 draw with West Brom on Saturday afternoon.
