Hull City have agreed a club-record fee of around £5m to sign Shane Long from West Bromwich Albion.
Long is currently undergoing a medical at Hull ahead of the proposed move, having been allowed out of the Republic of Ireland squad earlier this evening.
However, it is understood that West Brom are only willing to let Long leave the club if they bring in another striker before the 11pm deadline.
The Baggies have been linked with Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe, with manager Steve Clarke hopeful that at least one of those transfers will go through.
Long has featured in all three of West Brom's Premier League matches so far this season, although he is yet to open his account.
