Hull assistant manager Steve Agnew reveals that they are considering bringing in-form striker Matty Fryatt back from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.

Hull City assistant manager Steve Agnew has revealed that they have been closely monitoring the loan progress of Matty Fryatt with the view to recalling him from Sheffield Wednesday.

The 27-year-old has scored four times in six appearances since joining the Hillsborough outfit on an initial one-month deal, which has since been extended by Wednesday boss Dave Jones.

However, with Sone Aluko sidelined until February and Danny Graham yet to find the net for the Tigers this season, Agnew has hinted that Fryatt may be given a chance to continue his form back at the KC Stadium.

"It was important that Matty went out to play some games and score goals," Agnew told the Hull Daily Mail. "He's done exactly that and it's good to see. It's never easy coming back from such a long time out.

"From our reports where we've had scouts monitoring him at Sheffield Wednesday, he's certainly looking a lot fitter than he was. We extended his loan by another month so if we've committed to another month, we'll see that through and see how he goes.

"Will we consider recalling him at the end of his loan? Yes, that's a possibility. Let's just wait and see on that one."

Fryatt has scored 25 goals in 72 league games for Hull since joining them from Leicester City in 2011.
