Hull City have denied reports that they have reached an agreement with West Bromwich Albion over the capture of forward Shane Long.
The 26-year-old was believed to be close to moving to the KC Stadium in the summer, but a transfer failed to materialise by deadline day.
It has been suggested that Hull are back in the market for the Republic of Ireland international, but the club has moved swiftly to reject reports of a January swoop.
A statement on their Twitter page read: "Contrary to reports in the media this morning, we have not reached any agreement with @WBAFCofficial over the transfer of Shane Long, and as such will not be conducting a medical with the player today."
Long is yet to agree a new contract with the Baggies.
