Luis Suarez is on the verge of joining Lionel Messi at MLS club Inter Miami, according to a report.
The 36-year-old striker currently plies his trade with Brazilian outfit Gremio, where he has scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in 30 matches since joining the club in January.
However, according to journalist Gaston Edul, Suarez has been in negotiations with Inter Miami for some time and positive progress has been made, with the American side confident that they will soon finalise his transfer.
Suarez is hoping to reunite with former Barca teammate and close friend Messi, who was officially unveiled as a new Inter Miami signing last Saturday, a day before Sergio Busquets made his move to Florida.
The Uruguayan striker scored 195 goals in 283 appearances for Barcelona and won 13 trophies during a successful six-year spell at Camp Nou.
A fourth ex-Barca star is also heading to Inter Miami, as the club's president Jorge Mas has confirmed that free agent Jordi Alba has agreed to join the Herons.
Over in the Premier League, Everton have reportedly registered their interest in Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
The 26-year-old has entered the final year of his contract and is one of a number of Foxes players facing an uncertain future at the King Power Stadium following the club's relegation to the Championship.
Football Insider claims that Everton have made their first move to sign Iheanacho, who is valued by Leicester between £10m and £15m.
The Toffees are currently working with a tight budget amid Financial Fair Play concerns, but the report adds that the money recouped from the sale of Ellis Simms and the potential departure of Neal Maupay could fund their move for Iheanacho.
Iheanacho, who has also been linked with Nottingham Forest, began his career with Manchester City before joining Leicester for £25m in 2017, and he has since contributed with 55 goals and 33 assists in 206 games across all tournaments.
Everton's only signing of the summer transfer window thus far is 38-year-old Ashley Young on a free transfer.
Staying in the English top flight and newly-promoted Luton Town are reportedly set to complete the permanent signing of Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba.
The 29-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Kenilworth Road, featuring 20 times in total including a start in the Championship playoff final triumph over Coventry City at Wembley Stadium.
According to The Telegraph, Luton are now on the brink of signing Nakamba permanently after making a breakthrough in negotiations for their number one target.
The report adds that the Hatters have agreed a fee with Villa and the Zimbabwe international could be unveiled as a new signing within the next 48 hours.
Nakamba has fallen down the pecking order at Villa and failed to make a single appearance for the West Midlands club last season before joining Luton on loan in January.
The defensive midfielder is wanted by Hatters boss Rob Edwards, though, who has already signed Chiedozie Ogbene, Mads Andersen and Tahith Chong so far this summer. body check tags ::
