Former Aston Villa, West Ham United and Stoke City striker John Carew has reportedly failed a medical examination ahead of his proposed move to Inter Milan.
President Massimo Moratti claimed earlier today that the 33-year-old was about to undergo a 15-day trial period with the club.
However, reports in Italy this afternoon have since suggested that Inter have withdrawn that offer after the centre-forward struggled during a series of fitness tests at the club's training base.
Carew had been viewed as a replacement for Diego Milito, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
