Galatasaray have confirmed that they are now in talks with Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The Dutch midfielder's agent Soren Lerby last night revealed that his client had not yet spoken to the Turkish outfit, despite the Nerazzurri accepting a €10m (£8.2m) transfer fee.
That came after Gala sporting director Abdurrahim Albayrak had claimed that Sneijder was close to agreeing on a move to Turkey.
However, a statement on the club's official website stated that talks are now underway.
"Wesley Sneijder has agreed on the transfer from FC Internazionale," read the statement.
"Discussions are ongoing with the player. We bring this to the attention of the public."
According to a clause inserted into Galatasaray's offer, Inter cannot negotiate with other clubs about Sneijder until after January 15.
