Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio has claimed that Mauro Icardi's future could be resolved as early as Monday.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked to Chelsea, while Manchester United have also been touted as a possible destination for the Argentine forward.
However, Ausilio has suggested that Icardi could reject interest from elsewhere and sign a new contract with the Serie A club.
"It takes time to discuss the details, but we have to recognise the good work he's doing," The Express quotes Ausilio as saying. "The thing that counts is that we will soon reach an agreement.
"Could he sign on Monday? There will be a meeting soon and if we can close the deal by Monday then fine, but if not it won't mean there are any problems."
Icardi, who joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2013, has scored 14 top-flight goals in 23 appearances this season.
