Inter Milan have confirmed that they have received "a proposal" from Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro to sign striker Diego Forlan.
The Uruguayan star made the move to the San Siro from Atletico Madrid last summer, although he has only scored two goals in an injury-hit campaign.
Despite insisting that he wanted to stay at the club only last month, Atletico Mineiro have made an approach for the former Manchester United man.
Inter director Marco Branca told Uol Esporte: "It's true, we received a proposal from Atletico Mineiro for Forlan.
"We are in talks, but I cannot give any other information at this time. Forlan is considering this possibility, but nothing is decided yet.
"We are talking about it, but this is a complicated negotiation."
Forlan has made just 19 league appearances for Inter this season.
