A first-half header from Lewis Grabban has given Norwich City a 1-0 lead over East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town at half time in the Championship this afternoon.
Ipswich started to create a series of chances after the opening spell, with Daryl Murphy firing well wide before a heavy touch from the striker put the ball behind for a goal kick.
Dean Gerken had to make his first save of the afternoon when Kyle Lafferty made a break for the right before looking to set up Steven Whittaker, but it was a comfortable stop for the Ipswich keeper.
Norwich continued to see more of the ball and looked threatening when Nathan Redmond picked out Lewis Grabban, but Gerken kept the scuffed shot out.
However, the Canaries did manage to find the back of the net moments later when Grabban headed the ball in from close range at the near post from a corner.
The hosts came close to getting back on level terms when David McGoldrick tried to drill the ball in from just outside the box, but his finish went just wide to leave Ipswich trailing at the break.
