Ex-footballers Kieron Dyer and Titus Bramble have revealed that they are against introducing American Football's Rooney Rule in England.
The pair, who are both youth coaches with Ipswich Town, feel that the rule, which requires NFL teams to interview at least one black or ethnic minority candidate when searching for a new head coach, is unnecessary.
"I don't want to be interviewed because it's filling a quota," former England international Dyer told The Telegraph.
"I don't want to be on a shortlist because football clubs are told I have to be because I'm black."
Bramble added: "I think it's disgraceful that someone might be shortlisted for the job just because of their skin colour. You could say it's just as bad being given a job because of your skin colour as it is not being given a job."
There are currently only two first-team managers from a black or minority ethnic background in the Football League.
